Microsoft launches a more affordable Elite controller

If you’ve been staring at the Xbox Elite controller’s price tag and thinking $179 is just too much money and “if only it was $50 cheaper”, you might be in luck. Microsoft has launched a more affordable variant of the Elite controller in the form of the “Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core”.

This new controller gives gamers a mid-tier option that comes with a list of features that still sets it apart from the normal wireless controllers. Features like thumbsticks with adjustable tension, shorter hair trigger locks, wrapped rubber grips, exclusive button mapping options, up to 40 hours of battery life (rechargeable) and more.

With a price tag of $129, it’s still quite expensive, but only for average gamers. When it comes to competitive and professional users, it’s a whole new story. There is a lot to gain from these customizations and features when it comes to gaining a competitive edge. Not only that, but gamers can later upgrade it to what would be the full Elite controller (for the most part).
