Several vehicles catch fire outside Hard Rock Stadium during Miami Dolphins game

MIAMI GARDENS, Florida – Firefighters rushed to the parking lot outside Hard Rock Stadium after several vehicles caught fire on Sunday afternoon.

The smoke was seen from the stadium during the first half of the opening game of the Miami Dolphins season against the New England Patriots.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, but have said it was an accident.

It happened in a parking lot on the east side of the stadium.

No injuries were reported.

Officials have not said exactly how many vehicles were damaged by the fire.

A spokesperson for Hard Rock Stadium released a statement regarding the fire, which read:

“Around 1:00 p.m., a vehicle fire started in a remote parking lot at Hard Rock Stadium. Several vehicles were hit. The Miami Dade Police Department and the Miami Dade Fire Department were on the scene. The fire has been extinguished and is being investigated by the fire service. No injuries have been reported and there is currently no threat to the stadium.”
